“The Way” seeks to foster teen’s relationship with God and the Church through creative catechesis, evangelization, and fellowship. We strengthen and encourage youth by empowering them to live as Disciples of Jesus Christ, drawing them into full participation in the faith community, and fostering their personal and spiritual growth. In every activity, event and moment together along “the way”, we seek to bring Christ’s love and joy to one another. We find the food for this journey in Scripture... "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6 "A highway will be there, called the holy way; No one unclean may pass over it, but it will be for his people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray on it." -Isaiah 35:8 "You have been told, O mortal, what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." -Micah 6:8 What's Happening- Extra Activities Throughout the year we try to offer a variety of additional experiences in which we encourage our teens and families to be involved. These range from retreats, diocesan conventions, service opportunities, socials, prayer, Bible study, and more. Check out the "What's Happening" page for these events! They are a great way to get to know each other better while growing in our relationship with Christ. Sacrament of Confirmation Preparation and reception of this Sacrament is an elective component of our high school religious education and is in addition to Sunday evening participation. Preparation is open to any student in 9-12 grades. St. Vincent de Paul honors the guidelines for this program set forth by the Diocese of Austin. |
